Rock Wall Rules
You must sign up on the sheet for a time during the above hours.
These slots are available on a first come, first served basis.
The following rules will be enforced:
• All climbers must sign a climbing wall risk form and, if under 18 years of age, have the form also signed by a parent or guardian.
• No food or beverages in the climbing area.
• Must wear shirt and shoes. Must be dry.
• Once certified, non-staff belayers must be attached to the floor anchor while belaying.
• Individuals’ bouldering should not be below other climbers. Climbers and belayers should be aware of others bouldering at all times.
• Belay certification is limited to those over 15 years old. This class is necessary if you wish to belay/ climb/boulder without recreation center staff. You must attend with a partner.
• There will not be a minimum age requirement to climb on the wall. Climbing wall attendants will make the final call, and it will depend on children fitting safely into the full body harness.
• The use of chalk is limited to bison balls or other confined chalk.
• All jewelry must be removed from the climber, and long hair should be tied up and out of the way.
• Adults 18 and over must accompany children 7 and under even though recreation staff will be
belaying.
• No running or rough housing.
• Signed waivers stay on file for one year.

Climbing Wall Classes
All participants must sign a climbing wall waiver. Those under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian signature. Withdraw policy for climbing classes: due to small class sizes refunds/credits are only given with at least 72 hours notice. Please be prompt or early for class. We start classes at the designated time. Youth Climbing - All levels of climbing ability are welcome and encouraged to join the group. Climbing builds confidence and self esteem, and out instructors are here to help you succeed. We will meet the individual needs of the climbers. Covering everything from how to tie in and put on a harness, to learning and practicing proper movement on the wall. Space is limited and we encourage you to register early or for continuous sessions. One of the best ways to become a better climber is to climb more than once a week and practice the skills learned. Please arrive 10 minutes early to get geared up!
