Policies for ALL Active Adults Activities

Registration
All activities require registration even if there is no charge. Registration is on a first come, first-served basis. Brochures, calendars and flyers will show dates, times, fees, optional expenses and activity level. Payment is required at registration (unless otherwise noted). Participants are NOT registered unless paid. Minimum numbers must be met for the activity to occur. DATES, PRICES AND ACTIVITIES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Cancellation & Refunds
If the event/venue is cancelled or the Coordinator/designee cancels the trip for any reason, a full refund will be credited to your account. Participants will be notified as far in advance as possible of the cancellation. No refund will be issued if the participant fails to show up or is late and misses the van.

Waiting List
When the trip seats are filled, a waiting list will be kept if warranted. If an opening occurs, the top name on the list will be notified in person or by phone.

Departures & Returns
All trips depart and return to the Recreation Center. Participants MUST check in with staff 10 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Return times are approximate – please be flexible. No one will be allowed to disembark from the van at any place other than the Recreation Center and prearranged destinations.

Trip Etiquette
Register early so we may adhere to reservations, deadlines and policies. All trips are smoke free. Seat belts usage is required. When boarding the van, please keep in mind that some passengers are less mobile than others and cannot move easily to the rear seats. Be considerate of other passengers in the confined interior of the van by bathing regularly and using perfumes and aftershaves in moderation. If appropriate, bottled drinks and sack lunches may be brought on the van. Please remove all trash and personal items from seats and floor after the trip returns. Please observe physical activity levels of trips.

Physical Activity Levels Of Trips
The driver and/or staff is responsible for assisting in the loading and unloading of passengers. The driver and/or staff is not responsible for ongoing personal assistance during trips.

Minimum activity: Comfortable walking shoes, ability to board the van, limited ability to walk or stand on tours.

Moderate activity: Comfortable walking shoes, ability to board van, ability to walk several blocks, stand on tours and limited use of stairs.

Average activity: Comfortable walking shoes, use of stairs; standing and/or walking for several hours of the day.

Maximum activity: Comfortable shoes or boots, ability to board the van, extended use of stairs, stand and/or extended walking and touring for much of the day.

Weld County Nutritional Senior Lunch

Every Monday, we host a luncheon specifically for the 60+ residents in Fort Lupton and surrounding communities. A reservation by calling 303-857-4200 is required by the previous Thursday at 4:00 pm so that we can provide the correct lunch count on Friday morning. A $3.00 donation is requested for each attendee. We frequently have entertainment after the lunches and on the 2nd and 4th Mondays we play dime bingo afterwards. Come and enjoy a couple of hours of companionship with your friends and neighbors.

Autumn Deadwood, SD
Casino Trip

We are taking our annual casino trip to Deadwood Gulch Resort & Casino in Autumn so we can enjoy the fall foliage, the 1880’s Train ride and a trip to Custer State Park. Package at the casino includes deluxe motor coach, $56 meal vouchers, $40 free slot play, $5.00 blackjack match play coupon and free entry into slot tournament.

Time: Leave at 8:00 am on September 8 and return at 6:00 pm on September 11

Fee: $250.13 for single occupancy
$189.62 for double occupancy

In-House Activities

Here are the current in-house activities available for active older adults in the Senior Lounge and the Multi-purpose room:

FREE legal counseling:
Held the second Thursday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm by appointment only for seniors 60+ in the Senior Lounge.

Mah Jongg:
1:00 pm on the first and third Mondays and 2:00 pm on the second and fourth Mondays (after bingo) in the Senior Lounge.

Medicare/Medicaid Counseling & Benefit Checkup: By appointment only!

Potluck Luncheon:

Held the third Thursday at 12 noon in the
Multipurpose room. FREE with donations accepted.

Monday Lunch:

Birthday Party:
First Monday of each month, we celebrate that month’s birthdays. Birthday cake is served compliments of Beehive Homes and there is a $3.00 cost for the meal.

Blood Pressure Checks:
Second & Fourth Monday of the month, the Paramedics come and give quick blood pressure checks.

Card Games:
Every Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Senior Lounge. Pinochle is the game of choice.

Dime Bingo:
The second and fourth Monday at 1:00 pm. Nine games - bring 10 dimes & a nickel.

FREE hearing tests:
Available the first Monday of the month by appointment only.

Rowdy Bunch Coffee:
Join other seniors for coffee, donuts and stimulating conversations! Every Wednesday from 8:00 am – 10:00 am in the Senior Lounge. FREE; donations accepted.
