EMERGENCY RESPONSE INFORMATION
FORT LUPTON CONTACT:
Police Department: Ken Poncelow, Chief of Police; City Emergency Manager Recent events have driven home the importance of what emergency preparedness experts have been telling us for a long time: Because a disaster, natural or manmade, may initially overwhelm emergency responders, all of us should be prepared to sustain ourselves and our loved ones for at least 72 hours. Doing so requires that we put together a "Disaster Preparation Kit" that includes at least the following:
  • Bottled water
  • Necessary medications
  • Flashlights and spare batteries
  • Portable radio
  • Canned food
  • Manual can opener
  • Sanitary supplies
  • First Aid Kit
  • A little cash
Other items can be added per your personal needs and choices.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
  • Provide children with identification.
  • Provide family members with a list of names to contact in an emergency.
  • Develop a plan for emergencies at home and rehearse with family. members.
  • Identify Saferooms in your home
  • Shelters where family members should meet if their home is not an option.
