HISTORY
The Fort Lupton Museum is located in the old Fort Lupton Library building on 1st Street. The library was built in 1929 and in 1976 was consolidated with the high school library at 421 S. Denver Avenue. The museum was started in 1950 when Ralph Haynes, the first rural carrier, gave the city his sonedrul arrow-head collection, all cased, labeled and ready to display. When City Hall was built in 1982, the city had a small museum in the room across from the council room. In 1992, it was moved to this building, so the city could have more office space.
Take time in the present to visit the past at the Fort Lupton City Museum located in the heart of our community.
Historians and genealogy researchers appreciate our extensive archives of
Family histories, cemetery records, business documents and photos as far back as the 1800’s.
Permanent displays include a vast collection of arrowheads, natural artifacts, commercial and industrial mementos.
