    Bring your pumpkin(s) or scarecrow to The Fort, 2001 Historic Parkway, South Platte Valley Historic Park between 1pm - 3pm on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, for staging.
    Pumpkins:Decorated or carved, popular vote wins in each category. No size limit, enter as many as you like! No fire/candles are allowed, but battery-operated devices are recommended!
    Scarecrows:We have a limited number of frames available, first come, first serve. Scarecrows can be no taller than 7 feet, or wider than 5 feet. They can be staged with props, animated, etc. No fire/candles are allowed, but battery-operated devices are recommended!

Road Work:

  • Construction starts soon on CO 52 and CR 37 intersection safety and drainage improvements. The Colorado Department of Transportation and AB Underground will construct safety improvements at the intersection of Colorado Highway 52 and Weld County Road 37. For more information, please review the CDOT website here:  https://www.codot.gov/projects/co-52-weld-county-road-37-improvements CR37 is expected to reopen before October.
  • CR23 between Hwy52 and CR14.5 will be closed for work on a load bearing bridge starting approximately September 5, 2022. This is going to take approximately 4-5 weeks to complete. The anticipated detour route will take drivers on CR21 (because CDOT will be working on CR19 and Hwy52 starting in November). This is going to be from 09/12 to 10/07 for a bridge re-deck and guard rail.
  •  CDOT will have work on 52 and CR 19 beginning in November.

Traffic shifts and lane closures are anticipated during phased construction. This project will add left-turn lanes on all intersection approaches in addition to a right-turn lane from eastbound CO 52 to southbound CR 37. New culverts and roadside ditches are part of the project. The work zone will be resurfaced with asphalt, and signing and striping upgrades will enhance safety and visibility. Private utility companies have been working in the area for several months to relocate utilities in advance of construction.
