Planning Commission/Board of Adjustments – Alternate Member – Term Expires 01/22/22 https://www.fortluptonco.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=250

The Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment has an opening for an alternate member. The members appointed to serve as the Planning Commission also serve as and perform the duties of the Board of Adjustment. Terms of office for the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment run concurrently. The alternate should be able to attend all meetings of the Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and be prepared to serve if there is a regular member absent.

The Planning Commission is responsible for providing recommendations to City Council related to zoning, land use, and development projects, as well as administering the City's comprehensive plan. The City is currently updating its land-use development code, and the Planning Commission will play a key role in providing input on its implementation.

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides variance requests related to the City's zoning code. The Board also hears and decides appeals that are brought in response to an interpretation, order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the City based on the building and zoning code. The Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment meets at 6:00 PM on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, as needed. Contact Alyssa Knutson, Planner, at 720-466-6128 with questions.

The City of Fort Lupton’s Historic Preservation Board has an opening for a new member.

The Board is looking for professionals in the fields of architecture, archeology, history, law, real estate, geography, or education, however, anyone with an interest in historic preservation may apply. Interested applicants that live outside the City of Fort Lupton are welcome to apply.

The Board meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:15 PM.

Fort Lupton Urban Renewal Authority (FLURA) https://www.fortluptonco.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=252

The Authority is the redevelopment agency for the City of Fort Lupton and was formed to promote redevelopment and reinvestment within the City and to create a thriving community that is economically diverse.

FLURA Business Representative – 5-year term

In order to qualify for this opening, you must own and operate a business and reside in the City of Fort Lupton.

FLURA Alternate Member – term expires 03/05/23

In order to qualify as an alternate, you must either own and operate a business and reside in the City, or be a resident of the City. The alternate should plan to attend all meetings of the Authority, and be prepared to serve in place of a regular member that is absent.

Library Board – Trustee - Term Expires 12/2024 https://www.fortluptonco.gov/140/Library-Board

This library is a joint venture involving the entire community, including the High Plains Library District, Fort Lupton Schools, and the City of Fort Lupton.

The Fort Lupton Public and School Library Board consists of seven members; three of whom are appointed by the City of Fort Lupton, three of whom are appointed by the Board of Education of Weld Re-8 School District, and one is appointed by the six library trustees. There are occasional special activities, planning sessions, workshops, and conferences to attend during the year. There are times when the library needs extra help, and volunteers from the board are recruited.

Board members will serve as advocates for the library within the community and school district.
